Cart Scale Your Storefronts Capabilities

Support a Large Number of Products in the Shopping Cart
Level up your storefronts shopping cart capabilities and deliver exceptional support for buyers that order products in large volumes

With new Cart Scale capabilities the number of items in a cart can trigger BB Commerce for Visualforce to asynchronously price the

cart and place the corresponding order Cart Scale also offers an assortment of enhancements for buyers to manage their large carts on
the storefront

Where This change applies to BB Commerce for Visualforce Winter version in Lightning Experience and Salesforce

Classic in Enterprise Performance Unlimited and Developer editions
Why Cart Scale includes the following capabilities
The new Scaled Cart page which replaces the Shopping Cart page version or with buyer experience enhancements for
managing a cart that contains a large number of items
Pagination controls for a more manageable view of all the carts items
Options for a buyer to sort and search the carts items
Tools for refreshing the price and availability data for the carts items which is required before the buyer can check out
Tools for removing products that become unavailable after a refresh
Asynchronous processing for pricing items in the cart including messages and statuses on the Scaled Cart page
Asynchronous processing for placing an order including messages statuses and new order result email templates
An option on the My Orders section of the My Account page Restore Cart which reopens and reactivates a cart that corresponds
to an order that failed to place asynchronously
Updated sections of the standard Checkout page for reviewing and confirming an order that contains a large number of cart items
and that was placed asynchronously
Define an asynchronous processing threshold which specifies the number of major line items in the cart that triggers processing to
automatically switch to asynchronous
When the number of major line items is less than the threshold value cart pricing and order placement execute synchronously
When the number of major line items equals or exceeds the threshold value cart pricing and order placement execute asynchronously
How After you upgrade the available global data the new Cart Scale storefront configuration module is available and includes the
following settings

Cart Scale Your Storefronts Capabilities

Note You can continue using the Shopping Cart page version or but still take advantage of asynchronous processing for
placing an order For more information see Optimize Checkout for Large Carts

To support asynchronous processing for carts the API includes the following enhancements

A new global method ccrzccApiCartpriceAsync executes the logic for pricing a cart and enqueuing the asynchronous

Apex jobs The corresponding logic service provider class ccrzccLogicCartPriceAsync defines this logic and provides
an extension point for modifying or replacing the default behavior

A new global method ccrzccApiCartrepair resets the status of a cart when an asynchronous pricing job is unsuccessful

The corresponding logic service provider class ccrzccLogicCartRepair defines this logic and provides an extension point
for modifying or replacing the default behavior

Define the Buyer Experience for a Cloned Cart
If your storefront allows a buyer to manage carts from the My Account page you can now more explicitly control what happens when
a buyer clones an existing cart Continue to provide a trusted storefront experience by efficiently and intuitively supporting your buyers
cart workflows

Where This change applies to BB Commerce for Visualforce Winter version in Lightning Experience and Salesforce

Classic in Enterprise Performance Unlimited and Developer editions

Why In previous versions of BB Commerce for Visualforce the My Carts section of the My Account page included a Clone button

which created a cart from an existing cart However no options were available for configuring the buyer experience after a buyer clicked
the Clone button
You can now specify the following options for the buyers experience after they click the Clone button
Whether to price the new cart automatically after creating it
Whether the new cart becomes active after creating it
When the new cart is inactive the buyer remains on the My Carts section of the My Account page
When the new cart is active the buyer immediately navigates to the Shopping Cart page
How After you upgrade the available global data the Cart storefront configuration module includes the following new settings

Visualforce solution This release replaces the ccrzccapiCartplaceEOrder public method with new extensible
global methods for the ccrzccLogicCartPlace logic service provider class

Optimize Checkout for Large Carts
When a buyers shopping cart contains a large number of items efficiently convert the cart to an order and ensure that the buyers
checkout experience is uninterrupted Even if you dont enable Cart Scale you can enable asynchronous processing for placing an order
during checkout flow

Where This change applies to BB Commerce for Visualforce Winter version in Lightning Experience and Salesforce

Classic in Enterprise Performance Unlimited and Developer editions
Why In previous versions of the managed package a buyer with a large number of items in their cart could experience significant
performance issues when placing an order
With this enhancement you can use asynchronous processing for placing orders even when you dont enable Cart Scale This enhancement
provides better performance for buyers with larger carts on storefronts that continue to use the Shopping Cart page version or
After you enable asynchronous processing for order placement the following buyer experience enhancements are available
An option on the My Orders section of the My Account page Restore Cart which reopens and reactivates a cart that corresponds
to an order that failed to place asynchronously

BB Commerce for Visualforce Release Notes and Upgrade

Guide

Checkout Deliver an Efficient Buyer Experience

Updated sections of the standard Checkout page for reviewing and confirming an order that was placed asynchronously
New email templates for notifying a buyer when an asynchronously placed order succeeded or failed
How After you upgrade the available global data a new storefront configuration setting Process Orders Asynchronously is available

under the Checkout module By default this setting is FALSE To always use asynchronous processing for order placement regardless

of the number of items in the cart change this setting to TRUE

The new email template for a failed asynchronously placed order CC Order Async Fail references two page labels that include placeholder

values for links To ensure that a buyer receives an email that correctly links to your storefronts order pages edit these page labels to
reference your storefront specifically Complete the steps in Show Order Confirmation Details and Send Order Emails
Note
When you enable Cart Scale this configuration is ignored Processing for order placement automatically switches from
synchronous to asynchronous depending on the asynchronous processing threshold
Asynchronous processing for order placement isnt compatible with guest checkout All orders are processed synchronously

for a guest buyer even when Process Orders Asynchronously is TRUE

The API includes the following enhancements that support asynchronous order placement

A new global method ccrzccApiCartplaceAsync executes the logic for placing an order and enqueuing the asynchronous

Apex jobs The corresponding logic service provider class ccrzccLogicCartPlaceAsync defines this logic and provides
an extension point for modifying or replacing the default behavior

A new global method ccrzccApiOrderrestore reopens the corresponding cart when asynchronous order placement

fails The corresponding logic service provider class ccrzccLogicOrderRestore defines this logic and provides an extension
point for modifying or replacing the default behavior

A new global method ccrzccApiCouponupdateOnUse tracks coupon usage for asynchronous orders The corresponding

logic service provider class ccrzccLogicCartRepair defines this logic and provides an extension point for modifying or

Lightning Components Create a Unified BB Commerce for

Visualforce Buyer Experience

Where This change applies to BB Commerce for Visualforce Winter version in Lightning Experience and Salesforce

Classic in Enterprise Performance Unlimited and Developer editions
Why In previous versions of the managed package the only available extension point for order behavior was the ccrzcchkOrder
extension point class The ccrzcchkOrderplace method called the ccrzccapiCartplaceEOrder public
method for converting a cart to an order and this public method wasnt extensible Developing a customized checkout flow was a
difficult complex task and required significant custom code development
This enhancement provides a more standardized interface and supported architecture for authoring extensions The
ccrzccLogicCartPlace logic service provider class includes multiple new methods for evaluating a cart and creating a
corresponding order and items If you prefer you can continue using the ccrzcchkOrder extension point class for creating
an order instead of the new ccrzccLogicCartPlace methods
How After you upgrade the available global data a new storefront configuration setting Use Order Hook is available under the Checkout

module By default this setting is FALSE which specifies that checkout uses the new ccrzccLogicCartPlace methods To

revert to the ccrzcchkOrder extension point class change this setting to TRUE
